"Peace vs. Victory: where do we stand?”

Call for Application

Azerbaijan Youth Euro-Atlantic Organization (AYEAO) is pleased to announce call for application to "Peace vs. Victory: where do we stand?” TC. The training course is organized by AYEAO with the support of German Federal Foreign Office and the Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations (ifa). The project is designed for youth between 18 and 30 ages. Students, young researchers and representative of national NGOs can participate in the training cours  



ENERGY SECURITY IN THE EURO ATLANTIC AREA: NEEDS TO ANALYSE CHALLENGES AND FUTURE PERSPECTIVES

Several organizations dealing with broad range of issues, including mainstream security matters, in the Euro-Atlantic area, decided to take a commitment for development of such project. Youth Atlantic Treaty Association (YATA-International), Azerbaijan Youth Euro-Atlantic Organization, Turkish Euro-Atlantic Youth Committee and Bulgarian Euro-Atlantic Youth Club established a working group for development of conceptual basis of this project (including this concept paper). ETHNO-TERRITORIAL CONFLICTS IN SOUTH CAUCASUS: NEW APPROACHES AND PERSPECTIVES

Azerbaijan Youth Euro-Atlantic Organization with technical support of Qafqaz University and with the financial support of the Council of State Support to NGOs under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan had implemented a project called “Ethno-Territorial Conflicts in South Caucasus: New Approaches and Perspectives” on 25-27 September 2009.

There were 15 selected foreign participants (excluding Azerbaijani participants) from Ukraine, Georgia, Russia, the USA, Latvia, T  



2nd NATO SIMULATION GAME in AZERBAIJAN

2nd NATO Simulation game within the frame of Azerbaijan Youth Euro-Atlantic Organization was held in Qafqaz University in April 5, 2009. “The role of NATO in the solution of regional conflicts” was the topic of the simulation. Given states and international organizations, represented by the students, came together to solve the conflict between two countries.

The participants of the simulation game were chosen on the competitive base. The meetings were held with chosen applicant  



“Promoting Peace in Central Asia and Caucasus: Conflict Transformation and Confidence Building”

Due to a common historical background, the countries of Central Asia and Caucasus share many socio-political characteristics. Because of this similarity, we often hear the phrase „Central Asia and Caucasus“, which implies that enough commonalities exist between these two regions that allow us to represent them in this way. YOUNG ATLANTICIST CLUB

Azerbaijan Youth Euro-Atlantic Organization had organized the project called “Young Atlanticist Club” with financial support of The Council of State Support to NGOs under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The project had implemented in four major regions of Azerbaijan, which are Sumgait, Ganja, Lankaran and Guba, within September and November months in 2008. There approximately 100 participants had took part in various activities in framework of the project.

Second Exhibition of the Youth Organizations


Azerbaijan Youth Euro Atlantic Organization has participated in the second exhibition of the youth organizations organized by Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the framework of “Azerbaijan State Youth Program” in June 13, 2008. The overall aim of the exhibition was promotion of activities of youth organizations and stimulation of participation of young people in social work.

AGAAT has presented in the exhibition different short films, booklets, print materials a  



NATO SIMULATION GAME in AZERBAIJAN

Azerbaijan Youth Euro-Atlantic Organization with the support of “Qafqaz” University has organized first time ever in Azerbaijan NATO Simulation game in February 23, 2008. The topic of the simulation game was one of the actual issues of international politics and namely “Energy security in today’s international system”. Fifteen young people from different Universities of Azerbaijan took part in the simulation and played the role of various states as well as international organizations.   



“All Different – All Equal: new tools towards progressive development through Student Organizations”. Baku, Azerbaijan, June 22-27, 2007



 

In the framework of European Campaign "All Different - All Equal" Azerbaijan Youth Euro-Atlantic Organization and Baku State University Students Trade Union with the support of the European Youth Foundation have organized a seminar for Student Organizations.

The main goal of the project was to develop the institution of Student Organization in Azerbaijan that will make essential contribution in youth development by active promotion of the Campaign

  BRIEF PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE:

This project was committed to raise civic awareness, promote high democratic political culture among young people and to stimulate active participation of young people in civil society as well as to provide them with the opportunity to experience democracy, its function  



Training: Acting for a drug-free life Baku, Azerbaijan, July 24-29


Azerbaijan Youth Euro Atlantic Organization together with Galli Group, Austria, have organized a training for European youth workers in Baku, Azerbaijan, in which we have thought successful training modules for social inclusion of young people who are living at the edge of society, especially those who are having drug addiction problems. The training held on July 24-29. Our main focus was to teach our participants, training modules for young people to receive help in developing major social competence  



Peacekeepers and Troublemakers - Internal and external conflict management -

The president of Azerbaijan Youth Euro Atlantic Organization Mr. Ziya Gaziyev has participated in DAYS 2007 (Danish Atlantic Youth Seminar) devoted to the current situation in the Caucasus, which was organized by the Danish Atlantic Treaty Association. The seminar was taking place at the air base of Aalborg in the Northern part of Denmark from the 4th – 10th of July 2007.

How to avoid conflicts in Caucasus: European cooperation as a role model? Round II

This international event is being held as a second round of the same initiative, which was held by AGAAT and JEF Azerbaijan with the support of the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe in Baku, in April 2004. The organizers decided to return once again to the topic after 2 years so that to evaluate the development in Azerbaijani society in this period. This time the project was also be linked to the “All Different-All Equal” Campaign of the Council of Europe.

Democracy and elections

 

Azerbaijan Youth-Euro Atlantic Organization in cooperation with the University of Magdeburg (Germany) realized the project in connection with Parliamentary Elections in Azerbaijan in 2005, November 6 under the name “Democracy and elections”

Within the mentioned academic project some activities had been held in Germany as well as in Azerbaijan. From the middle of the October the president of the Organization Mr. Ziya Gaziyev organized seminars in the University of Magdeburg  



NATO Membership; Doest it make sense

 

Azerbaijan Youth Euro Atlantic Organization has organized the conference entitled “NATO Membership; Doest it make sense”. This conference was held within the project called “Integration to Euro-Atlantic Structures” that consists of various round tables, presentations, seminars and conferences during the period November-December 2005.

The mentioned conference was gathered students from different universities, AYEAO members, young researches and experts of the field and f  



NATO international School in Azerbaijan 2005

By proposing to organize a NATO INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL AZERBAIJAN (NISA), AYEAO brought to  



NATO Summer School 2004

From June 14 to 19, 2004 Azerbaijan Youth Euro Atlantic Organization organized International NATO Summer School in Baku, Azerbaijan. The “NATO Summer School 2004” was prepared with the sponsorship of NATO Public Diplomacy Division and with the support of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Republic. In the event took part 5 international; Turkey, Germany, Georgia, Finland, Denmark and 40 local participants from different universities, research centers and other institutions.

Conference at Baku State University (June 14-19, 2004)

The conference organized by Azerbaijani Youth Euro-Atlantic Organization (AYEAO) and held on 24 April was the final step of the article competition that was launched since 1 March. The article competition was held among the students of different universities, mainly students of the departments of International Relations and International Law. They were to represent articles about the suggested issues like NATO enlargement, Azerbaijan integration to the West institutions, EU enlargement, new challenges to   


Meeting devoted to 10 years of joining of Azerbaijan to Partnership for Peace (May 4, 2004)

Azerbaijani Youth Euro-Atlantic Organization held a conference that was titled "Partnership for Peace-10" in International Media Center on 4 May 2004.
Republic of Azerbaijan joined "Partnership for Peace" program of NATO on 4 May 1994. This step can be regarded as another phase of the process of Azerbaijani integration to Euro-Atlantic structures. After gaining independence Azerbaijan saw its political future in Europe and ensuring its security in NATO.
