Azerbaijan Youth Euro Atlantic Organization together with Galli Group, Austria, have organized a training for European youth workers in Baku, Azerbaijan, in which we have thought successful training modules for social inclusion of young people who are living at the edge of society, especially those who are having drug addiction problems. The training held on July 24-29. Our main focus was to teach our participants, training modules for young people to receive help in developing major social competences such as: communication, conflict resolution, teamwork, self-consciousness and presentation. These training modules are based on the proven theatre techniques of the Galli Method. Galli International delivers the best service to our global audience. The improvisational acting techniques that are a part of the Galli Method help to activate creativity, personal development and intercultural understanding.
Establishing those social skills will be a major link to tackle drug addiction problems and work in drug prevention. Galli's unique training contents help increase body language awareness, resolve conflicts, break through old structures, undergo marginal experiences, and activate yet unrealized creative resources.
During the training it was tried to put together a workbook on how to use creative techniques such as drama, spontaneous play scenes and expressive dance to foster social inclusion and drugs problem of young people. Our international trainers which came from Galli Group, Austria, Society for Peaceful Conflict Resolution, Germany, and Festival of Friends Society, Germany, have been working with these training modules based on acting techniques for more than 20 years. We have invited 11 youth organizations from 6 different countries (3 EU member countries and 3 countries from Eastern Europe/Caucasus area).
At the end of the training we have presented the final performance. To this performance were invited representatives of youth organizations in Azerbaijan, youth workers as well as other interested people. It was good experience for our organization and for the participants as well.
