First of all I would like to greet you at the web page of Azerbaijan Youth Euro-Atlantic Organization.
Over the decade ago, end of the Cold War changed the shape of the world challenging the West and European countries to bring freedom, prosperity and peace to the area from Vancouver to Vladivostok. It was the way towards the common strategic goal - free and peace Europe.
On the other hand, post communist states started reforms for better future and for more democratic society with Euro-Atlantic values. Azerbaijan assumed its role within this area by embracing its tight cultural, historical and contemporary relations, which identifies this country as a European state. Azerbaijan wishes to contribute to the process of building free and peaceful Europe though it is engaged into the armed conflict as a result of the aggression of Armenia, which occupied 20 percent of territories of Azerbaijan. The results of the efforts of the government were the acceptance to European Council and OSCE. These are vivid proof for our commitment to the general idea of Euro-Atlantism.
AGAAT - Azerbaijan Youth Euro-Atlantic Organization is a non-governmental, non profit organization, which brings closer young people who are committed to the common interests and determined to promote development of Azerbaijan and stand ready to make input for the sake of the common goals and objectives of the Organization and to contribute to Azerbaijan's dynamically developing Partnership with Euro-Atlantic Institutions.
The organization seeks to promote understanding of Euro-Atlantic Institutions and values as the foundation of these institutions. Our mission takes its roots from the idea that "destination of the journey must be clear to all". The collapse of the Soviet Union put variety of paths in front of Azerbaijan, but our choice was Euro- Atlantic area with its values - democracy, human rights, and rule of law, freedom and peace.
To provide environment for promotion of understanding of the changing role of institutions on the international realm and thus to contribute to the integration to the world of new values are AYEAO aims.
We committed to informing and raising awareness on important international issues by motivating youth of Azerbaijani society, by sharing information about values and Euro-Atlantic institutions, by encouraging discussion and enhancing knowledge of the importance of these issues. We wish to see Azerbaijan as an inspirable part of Euro Atlantic Community in the nearest future.
It can't be just a stationary journey all efforts of which are made by officials. We aim at becoming your lighthouse to guide you towards the world of the shared values. We hope that you will enjoy it together with us.
