This international event is being held as a second round of the same initiative, which was held by AGAAT and JEF Azerbaijan with the support of the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe in Baku, in April 2004. The organizers decided to return once again to the topic after 2 years so that to evaluate the development in Azerbaijani society in this period. This time the project was also be linked to the “All Different-All Equal” Campaign of the Council of Europe.
Existing conflicts in Caucasus are major obstacles for the development of economy and civil society in the region. The conflicts weaken every kind of cooperation between different Caucasian peoples and states. Without mutual cooperation and understanding the future prosperity of the region would remain a good dream. It is promising that in the region acting some national and international organizations that understanding this reality promote peace building. It is very important for those organizations to understand the nature of the conflicts in the region and work out effective approach. We are also wishing to be part of peace-building process in our region and work out own approach using advanced experience.
