Conference at Baku State University (June 14-19, 2004)

The conference organized by Azerbaijani Youth Euro-Atlantic Organization (AYEAO) and held on 24 April was the final step of the article competition that was launched since 1 March. The article competition was held among the students of different universities, mainly students of the departments of International Relations and International Law. They were to represent articles about the suggested issues like NATO enlargement, Azerbaijan integration to the West institutions, EU enlargement, new challenges to international security as terrorism, ethnic conflicts and so on. All the presented articles were examined, several of them were chosen and the authors were invited to make a speech in the conference. The conference, which took place at Baku State University, was one of dialogue and discussion of the issues among the students with the participation of experts. The main goal of the project was to develop the awareness of the students about the Euro-Atlantic security environment, transatlantic relationship, and Azerbaijan integration to NATO and EU. The participants also participated in the NATO Summer School organized by AYEAO that took place in Baku, on the 14-19 of June 2004.
